Dr Samantha Budhram is a sub-specialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine and a senior lecturer currently working at Tygerberg Hospital and Stellenbosch University. She obtained her undergraduate degree at WITS University and went on to train as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and obtained her MMed (O&G) degree from UKZN. She then swiftly moved on to train in Maternal Fetal Medicine and obtained her MPhil (Maternal Fetal Medicine) degree from Stellenbosch University. She is the current head of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Tygerberg Hospital. She is involved in research in Diabetes, preeclampsia and is undertaking a PhD investigating biomarkers in fetal growth restriction. She is the president of the South African Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (SASUOG) and an executive member if the Society of Obstetric Medicine of South Africa (SOOMSA).
