This workshop will provide a focused and practical update on two important areas of fetal imaging: fetal echocardiography and fetal neurosonography. The first half will cover fetal cardiac imaging, moving from basic screening views to more advanced assessment, and will include perspectives from paediatric cardiology and medical genetics. The second half will focus on neurosonography, with an emphasis on systematic assessment of the fetal brain and recognition of important abnormalities. Throughout the workshop, imaging principles will be linked to clinical application, multidisciplinary interpretation, and counselling. Interactive case discussions will form an important part of the programme, allowing participants to work through real clinical scenarios with input from fetal medicine, paediatric cardiology, and genetics. The workshop is designed as a lecture-based session for delegates seeking both practical guidance and deeper theoretical understanding.
This workshop will provide a practical and clinically relevant approach to the assessment of the small fetus and fetal growth restriction. The didactic component will cover definitions, aetiology, pathophysiology, and principles of management, with particular emphasis on the ultrasound evaluation of the small fetus. Delegates will review the systematic examination, including fetal biometry, anatomical considerations, liquor volume, placental assessment, and maternal and fetal Doppler interrogation.
The second half of the workshop will consist of a hands-on practical session, allowing participants to apply these principles directly in supervised scanning stations. The practical component will focus on biometry and Doppler techniques relevant to fetal growth restriction. The workshop is intended to integrate theory with real-world ultrasound practice. It will be suitable for clinicians wishing to strengthen both their conceptual understanding and their technical skills in this area.
