Workshop Rationale
Pregnancy offers a critical window into future health risk. A FIGO life-course approach recognizes adverse pregnancy outcomes (APOs) such as hypertensive disorders and gestational diabetes as early risk factors of long-term cardiometabolic disease. Strengthening coordinated postnatal care pathways can transform pregnancy into an opportunity for lifelong disease prevention.
Workshop Aim
To apply FIGO’s life-course approach to postpartum care by linking pregnancy complications with long-term health risks and strengthening coordinated care pathways beyond delivery.
